Design story
The Wood
Teak is not chosen arbitrarily. It is one of the most durable hardwoods in the world — dense, naturally oil-rich, and resistant to warping across the humidity cycles of the Indian subcontinent. The Liora is built from solid teak throughout. No veneers. No engineered composites. The grain you see is the same grain that runs through the core of the chair — a quality marker that holds its value across years of daily use.
The Craft
Each Liora chair is assembled using traditional joinery techniques honed over generations in Rajasthan's furniture workshops. The frame passes through multiple hands before it reaches yours — rough-shaping, fine-carving, sanding to a smooth finish, and a hand-applied natural polish that lets the teak's warm character remain the centrepiece. Chairs that carry this kind of attention are not produced in hundreds per day. They are produced carefully, in small batches.
